Bold Rainbows and Big Birthday Wishes with Emily Moore Designs

Tuesday, February 17, 2026

I started this card with a subtle yellow pattern from the Charming 6x8 pattern paper pad from Scrapbook.com. Using the Emily Moore Designs rainbows layered stencil set, I blended Spice Marmalade Distress Ink for the largest rainbow layer, Fossilized Amber for the middle layer, and Faded Jeans for the smallest layer. Once the stenciling was finished, I trimmed the panel to A2 size and set it aside. I die cut the largest rectangle from the Emily Moore Designs decorative sentiment die set out of vellum to create a soft layer that would let the rainbow background show through.

For the sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday Big and Bold die set from Emily Moore Designs. I die cut the word happy from a floral pattern paper and popped it onto the vellum with thin foam adhesive. I die cut the birthday shadow from a light blue floral pattern and the word birthday from a yellow and orange striped paper. Before cutting the birthday word, I ink blended Spice Marmalade onto the lower half of the paper to give it an ombré look. I glued the birthday word onto its shadow and added a small die cut heart as the dot on the i. I layered the birthday sentiment across the word happy, leaving space for an extra sentiment. I die cut a fishtail banner from the same striped paper, stamped the sentiment “I hope all your wishes come true” with Twilight Versafine Clair ink, and tucked it under the birthday. To finish the card, I glued the vellum panel onto the stenciled background, placing adhesive only behind the die cuts, and attached everything to an A2 card base.
