AAAHH!!! Happy Halloween with The Sassy Club

Tuesday, May 31, 2022

Anyone a fan of late 90's Nickelodeon cartoons? AAAHH!!! Real Monsters was a silly show I used to watch about three monsters who were learning to scare humans and they would go to school at a city dump. I created my best impression background to look like they're walking from school but it's super simple to keep the focus on the monsters.

You can see how I created my card watching my video tutorial below or check out some close up photos over on my Instagram. Let me know in the comments what your favorite cartoon was growing up!

Let's Celebrate with Playful from Scrapbook.com

Monday, May 30, 2022

I am so excited for these new Patterned Collections from Scrapbook.com! I LOVE their paper pads and I'm so excited to have some patterned paper that match - it's going to make making cards and memory keeping so easy when everything coordinates.

For my card today, I really wanted to show off one of the prints from the collection. So I kept things super simple with this celebration card!

I used my coordinating paper pad, of course, and rectangle dies to make a dark blue frame. Then die cut the patterned paper, white cardstock and the blue cardstock again with a smaller rectangle. Those three layers were glued together to create some dimension without using foam adhesive.

The sentiment is embossed onto another color and I used the smallest slimline die to cut it out and used adhesive foam to adhere to the card. To add some shine to the card, I used my Pops of Color in Sunflower - which isn't out yet, but will be soon so keep it on your wishlist!

You can head to my gallery to see the full list of supplies (with adhesives) as well as the rest of my Creative Team projects.

Unfortunate Slimline Card with Kindred Stamps

Sunday, May 29, 2022

It's a long weekend and I'm still trying to recover from saying up WAY too late Thursday night watching a few episodes of Stranger Things and then finishing it up on Friday (yes, I am that person - also I'm rewatching it with my husband). I get today to get some crafting done and hopefully get some videos prepped for the week.

But I wanted to sneak in one more brand challenge and I thought it worked well with this week's Craft Roulette parameters! Kindred Stamps challenge this month is Mermaid (or any sea creature) so I thought about using Ursula for this challenge. Craft Roulette this week was [1] a slimline card; [2] dark background + 2 colors and I used purple and red; [3] rainy, which I accomplished with a stencil and stencil paste; and [4] curved lines which was pretty easy with the dies and stamped image!

The background is an ink blended background with Distress Oxides, then I die cut it with a slimline die and added the rain with the stencil paste. The die cuts were added with different thickness of adhesive - the back wave is glued directly to the background (which was glued directly to the card base), I used the thin Scrapbook Adhesive squares for Ursula and the middle wave, and then a regular thick foam adhesive for the top wave. The sentiment is embossed on to the black cardstock after I die cut and then glued that directly to the top wave.

What do you think? Did I meet the requirements of the latest Craft Roulette parameters? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Pot Head (for a Coffee Lover) with Ink Road Stamps

Friday, May 27, 2022

"You're the Dopest" is a fun stamp set for those who partake in some green... 😉 But the "Pot Head" stamp with the coffee pot had me laughing because it's just such a funny way to think about loving coffee! So I wanted to make a card with that stamp set as I know a couple of coffee pot heads in my life.

The background was really fun to make and I created my coffee cup rings with a toilet paper roll center. You can see how the card comes together down below in my Instagram Reels and it will also be on TikTok. I hope you'll check it out and leave a comment!

Simple Christmas Card Layout with The Sassy Club Stamps & Lawn Fawn Dies

Thursday, May 26, 2022

Hi, friends. I'm a day late on this video, but honestly it's just been such a tough week... When I learned about the latest tragedy in Texas, I was broken. I have an 8 year old that attends a public elementary school and I am still so distraught and burdened with grief... I just needed a couple days to get back to a routine (I'm also getting over a cold) and I'm feeling a little more like myself to get back to my scheduled posting.

Today's video is a quick and easy Christmas card layout that can be easily reproduced for lots of cards! I am using an adorable stamp set from The Sassy Club and Lawn Fawn dies to create this card layout, but you can easily switch out for products you already have. It's a simple layout so you can easily adapt to any holiday scene.

Check out my video below and I hope you are all doing well. Hugs to you all!

Party Animal Birthday Card with Scrapbook.com

Tuesday, May 24, 2022

When I was in high school, I used to be able to make balloon animals. My dad was a magician and I also did some puppeteering so adding balloon animals as a skill seemed natural, don't you think? So when I saw this adorable stamp set from Scrapbook .com, I was so excited as it's just a great, big stamp set! Very Jeff Koons feeling and I love it.

I took some photos along the way making this card and created an Instagram Stories Tutorial that you can see for 24 hours in my Stories. But don't worry, I saved it as a Highlight and you can see it on my profile by clicking on the picture down below.

I hope you'll check it out and try making this card yourself if you get the stamp set!

Daisy Hugs with Lawn Fawn

Monday, May 23, 2022

So, guess who caught a cold this weekend... Me. 😭 I had big plans to get some crafting done and get videos recorded so I could work on them during the week... I'm not even sure I can do a voice over! But I have a few cards made this week that I hope to share - just may not have videos right away until I can get this cough to go away.

Today's card is a simple layout - I used the latest Craft Roulette parameters to inspire my card and it also happened to work out to submit for the latest Lawnfawnatics Challenge, too! I have an A2 sized card with the colors yellow and green, daisy flowers and a woodgrain background.

I popped up the flowers and glued the leaves tucked under each of the flowers. The "hugs" sentiment is three layers of black cardstock glued together and then glued down to the flowers. I hope you like this simple card!

Thanks Veggie Much with Heffy Doodle

Friday, May 20, 2022

We all know by know how much I love a good pun... and "thanks veggie much" is definitely a top 10. I just love that I have cute vegetable stamps from Heffy Doodle and I wanted to create a veggie patch with the new Rolling Hills Landscape dies. Mixing new product with older stamps is a great way to really stretch the use of your products! (Or maybe help your rationale of why *need* it.)

Check out my repost of my design team project down below. I share how I distressed and created my background, what I did to help recover from a splatter mishap and assembled my card.

Tea-riffic Day with Heffy Doodle

Wednesday, May 18, 2022

I'm running behind on my Craft Roulette project this week! I wasn't really sure how I was going to create a card with two folds, but thought I could do an off- centered gate fold as that was also a parameter. I looked through my patterned paper and picked florals to help me with my colors and finally the adorable Oh Crumbs Heffy Doodle stamp set with had a sugar bowl for the last parameter.

I cut the and scored my cardstock card base, added patterned paper panels and then die cut two circles to keep my gate fold closed and in place; the two circles are glued together for stability. I had fun creating this cute little corgi and their pink tea set! Plus a few pink rhinestones really make the card pop, don't you think?

I'd love to know if you think I did well with the parameters and if you participated, too!

Toasted S'mores Sparkle Blends Shaker Card with Lawn Fawn

Sunday, May 15, 2022

The weekend is ending, but I squeezed in one more card and of course I had to make it interactive! I used the latest Lawn Fawn Lawnfawnatics challenge to inspire my colors, but I wanted to use my Toasted S'more Sparkle Blends. So obviously this adorable S'more the Merrier stamp set was the way to go!

Today's video is sharing how I assembled the shaker card, how I added the stamped and die cut images and embossing the sentiment. I did not show the coloring to keep the video not too long, but let me know in the comments if you'd like to see this stamp set in a future Color & Chat video!

Floral Bouquet Birthday Card with Scrapbook.com

Saturday, May 14, 2022

I created this card by picking a cardstock pad (Floral) and then dug through my supplies to pick out stamps, dies and a stencil that I thought would create a birthday card well together. Adding gold stencil paste and pink Pops of Color brought out shine to make this card really come together. I had a few hiccups along the way - you can see how I recovered in my video today.

While typing this, I got a notification that my next package from Scrapbook .com is going to be delivered today so I'm so excited to bring you more content next week with some brand new goodies!

Hey, Meow You Doing? New Release from Time For Tea Designs!

Friday, May 13, 2022

It's a new release day from Time For Tea Designs and there are SO MANY CUTE THINGS. Here is just one of the cards I made using the new release! I'll be sharing more this month, so keep coming back and checking my Instagram!

For this card, I used the new Flirty Flowers Cover Die to create a two layered background. I love how fun these flowers look made out of hearts! The stamp set is the new Purrfect Day Stamp Set and there is a Coordinating Die Set that also cuts out the sentiments. This is one of my favorite things about T4T - the bubble die cut around the sentiments are awesome! Finally, I used the "hey" from the Hey Hello Hi Sentiment Die Set.

I wish I could put this cat in a leather jacket, because this sentiment makes me think of Joey from Friends, right? So head over and get shopping! Don't forget to use my code T4TLAUREN10 at check out. 😉

Reconsider from Roadies 7 by Ink Road Stamps

Wednesday, May 11, 2022

So we all know that I love the snarky from Ink Road Stamps and I think this is my favorite sentiment from the Roadies Vol 7 set. There is a fun unicorn floatie in the set that I used to create a background as it made me think of myself at the pool and my daughter coming up to ask me for something. I would totally say, "If you need anything from me, RECONSIDER." 🤣

If you'd like to see how this full, tulle shaker card came together, check out my Reels video down below! The sequin mix is a Sparkle Blend (of course) called "Puzzle Pieces" and it inspired my color choices for my floatie background!
