Winter Christmas Fun Fold Card with Lawn Fawn

Monday, November 29, 2021

I love the latest Craft Roulette Challenge and thought it would go great with the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, too! Abigail and I made almost matching cards, I created our card bases using some rich purple cardstock and added Let it Shine Snowflake Paper as well as some green cardstock from a retired paper pack.

Then we each made our own winter birthday scenes with the adorable penguins. I really like how my card turned out and I love how it will look on display. Did you participate in the challenge?

Whimsy Stamps has really great slimline paper packs to help make scene building a breeze! I just love making quick and easy slimline cards - I sit and color while watching a favorite show then just match them to a background. I usually make quite a few Christmas cards, so quick and easy is a good way to go. Plus the scenes are so pretty, they really turn out quite magical!

Check out my video below; I'm only showing one card here, but I end up making three!

Kendra's Card Challenge 4 - Christmas Cards with Whimsy Stamps

Saturday, November 27, 2021

I am so thankful for the Facebook Group "Team Tiny" as it really helped me get my little YouTube channel off the ground. It's a group of crafters with under 1000 followers that do hops monthly to help bring traffic and help everyone gain more followers. I graduated out of the group and I'm super excited that my virtual crafty friend Kendra has as well!

Today we are hopping to celebrate her channel, Cards by Kendra, reaching 1000 subscribers and we all are sharing projects inspired by Kendra. There are also a TON of giveaways!

I decided to use Kendra's Card Challenge 4 for her sketch ideas and created three cards on video to share on my video for the hop. There are 17 sketches total, but I thought it would be best to keep it short so you don't spend a half hour watching me and miss out on more channels. 😉

So make sure you click the video link below to watch on YouTube - it's how you'll get all of the information on the hop, who to hop to next and details about all of the prizes you can win!

Jump for Joy by Spellbinders - One Stamp Set, 3 Cards!

Friday, November 26, 2021

I have another Spellbinders Cardmaker stamp set to share with you today! This time I'm sharing how you can make three different cards using this stamp set combined with other Spellbinders products.

Below I have a Harry Potter inspired chocolate frog card. It's definitely my favorite of the three! I used heat foiling to create frames and the banner, too.

For the next card, I used dies to create my background out of scrap cardstock and then heat foiled the mushrooms with red and gold foil, then used watercolor markers to color them in. The same banner die from above, I used to cu tout a strip for the sentiment.

The final card has heat foiling for the top waves and an embossing folder to create the green waves. I wanted to create more of a jungle feel to go along with a bright orange frog! You can watch all three get put together in my video below.

Yeti Hugs! Christmas Card with Whimsy Stamps

Wednesday, November 24, 2021

I'm all about the quick and easy for Christmas! Does anyone else out there make a lot of cards? I used some of the newest Whimsy Stamps release products along with this cutie Yeti from a previous release.

Each step as simple as I wanted it to be a card that is easily reproduced - the hardest thing is probably coloring the image and staying in the lines.

You can watch the simple tutorial for this card on my Instagram this week! I show all of the supplies and how to put it together in a quick video in a little over a minute.

Retiform Art Thanksgiving Card with Whimsy Stamps

Sunday, November 21, 2021

I'm sneaking in another Thanksgiving card! I used the latest Craft Roulette parameters to inspire this creation - I've never heard of retiform art on a card before and it was really fun to create this fun background. The parameters this week were [1] a card with patterned paper, [2] colors inspired by a cornucopia, [3] an element that starts with a "C", and [4] includes retiform art.

My retiform background includes some patterned paper (the splattery background is from the Whimsy Stamps Autumn Hues Paper Pack), I used warm tones of pumpkin and squash that you would find in a Thanksgiving cornucopia and I used a circle die to cut out my panda image for my "C" element!

What do you think, did I use all the parameters? Did you participate? Let me know in the comments!

New Start Cardmaker Stamp Set + Hot Foil of the Month with Spellbinders

I was so excited when Spellbinders reached out to me if I'd like to use some of their latest Cardmaker Clear Stamp collection sets to create some cards to share with you how amazing these sets are and how easily you can combine them with other Spellbinders products.

This first set is the New Start Stamp Set and these butterflies are so pretty and detailed! I knew they would look so pretty with the beautiful November Hot Foil Kit; even though it has Christmas sentiments and holly leaves, you can use the more generic plates with anything... Like these butterflies!

I also used a fun embossing folder and floral dies to add more dimension and color. Plus, we cannot forget the splatter! Silks are my favorite way to add splatter - they're so easy to use and in so many colors. I used black and clear sparkle to help bring even more shine to this card.

I mean, not sure if I needed more with the metallic watercolor, embossing powder and glimmer hot foil... But I like ALL THE GLIMMER. 😉 Check out my video down below to see how the card came together and make sure to go comment over on my Instagram so Spellbinders can see that you like this stamp set, too!

Llamazing Cranberry Blush Inspired Card with Heffy Doodle

Tuesday, November 16, 2021

When I saw that Heffy Doode had a challenge to use a cranberry blush mood board, I wasn't sure what set I was going to use! But thanks to the latest Craft Roulette Challenge, I picked the adorable Llamazing Llamas stamp set. The four parameters this week were: [1] Lil' chubby (4x8") card, [2] warm colors, [3] "it's a sign" element and [4] crumpled paper.

The warm colors requirement I thought was a perfect way to tie in the cranberry blush colors and the Llamazing Llamas stamp set has a sign! I used LOTS of Distress Oxide inks to create my stenciled background; the constellations are made using Lawn Fawn's Pearl Stencil Paste. I crumpled my ground and die cut it to fit on the bottom of my card.

Abigail saw all my ink blending and was like, "no thanks." So she made her own background with more crumpled paper and stamped, colored and cut out her images (I helped with the cactus). I just love seeing how her mind puts scenes together and he rcoloring is getting better and better each week!

Did you participate in either of these challenges? What did you make?

Oh Holy Night Christmas Nativity Scene Card with Whimsy Stamps!

Sunday, November 14, 2021

The new Oh Holy Night Die Set is one of my favorites from the latest Whimsy Stamps release. I just love how easy this card comes together when you die cut the images out of colored cardstock. Today's video I show how each of these pieces come together to build the classic Christmas nativity scene. They also look so perfect inside of the Stained Glass Window dies, don't you think?

Also, there is no stamping again on this card! I have been loving these cards with no stamping - it challenges me and I am so happy with how it turned out.
