Rainbow Small World Inspired Birthday Cards with Avery Elle

Monday, August 15, 2022

I have another video today with my interpretation of Crafty Al's Show Us Your Sheet Load for August 2022! As usual, I pulled out some patterned paper that is old and I've been hoarding, so if you would like to make a similar card, it is a perfect opportunity to use paper from your own stash.

Most months I've been using Lawn Fawn stamps, but I just got this new Avery Elle stamp set and just HAD TO USE IT. It reminds me so much of "it's a small world" at Disneyland just needed to get it on a card.

The ride is white and gold, but I was able to find an older picture of the attraction when it was painted in pastel rainbow colors and I used that image to inspire my coloring. I have my video down below sharing my steps of how this card came together. I hope you'll check it out and also watch Crafty Al's original video (check my description of the video on YouTube) if you haven't followed her already!

Tinsel Time Gingerbread Train with Spellbinders

Sunday, August 14, 2022

When I got some of the new Tinsel Time products from Spellbinders Paper Arts to play with, I imagined making a gingerbread train using the new Holiday Express Dies! How cute would this look if it was real? The gingerbread train with peppermint wheels and licorice candies to tie a ribbon on the gifts just seemed like it would be so cute.

I also thought it would be so pretty on a deep teal-ish green background and used the new Starburst Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with Spellbinder's Aura Foil - it gives a beautiful golden sheen to the background that brings out the Kraft cardstock. The final touches of red gems, Snowflakes Pops of Color from Scrapbook.com and of course the dainty sentiments from the Tinsel Time Sentiments Dies really make this a beautiful holiday card!

Thank you to Spellbinders for letting me create with these amazing products and I hope you check out all of the new products released today for Tinsel Time!

Stay Strong Slimline Card + Creative Team Unboxing with Scrapbook.com

Saturday, August 13, 2022

Sympathy card is definitely a type of card no one really enjoys making. However, having a card ready to send for someone who is struggling through a hard situation is always helpful. I am using products and tools from my latest Scrapbook.com Creative Team box - there are some beautiful florals coming soon that you are going to want to get your hands on!

I used some colors I do not usually grab from my Distress Oxide collection and made my own striped background. The wildflowers were watercolored with the same colors to create the same tone throughout the slimline card.

If you're interested in seeing what I got this month in my Creative Team Box (and get some sneaks at upcoming products) and/or how this card came together, just watch my video down below! I have a visual list of all the items in my Box.

A Mole Lotta Love Shaker Card with Heffy Doodle

Friday, August 12, 2022

I've been going through some of my stamps and organizing a little better when I got to my wheelie cart with my sequins and clay bits... I have SO MANY! Like I think I might have a problem... I decided that I needed to make a shaker card right then and there. I finished sorting and going through them (putting duplicates into a different area to ultimately find later when I forget they're there) and made this cutie card.

The sequin mix is Unicorn Dreams from Heffy Doodle and I went through my other Heffy Doodle products to pick products I thought that would match. Plus, I wanted to use these cutie moles (I got a new blue grey shade and wanted to use it).

Whale of a Time Slimline with Time for Tea Designs

Thursday, August 11, 2022

Have you been having fun with the latest release from Time for Tea Designs? There are some really cool dies out with this latest release and today my card features the Slimline Porthole Dies set. I mixed in some older dies as well - the scalloped border is one of my favorites!

The stamped sentiment, whale and fish are from the new Fintastic Friends stamp set and I thought this card would be really cute for a friend going on a new adventure - maybe a cruise?!

The slimline card is fairly simple - not a lot of layering. I glued everything down directly to the card base while the critters are popped up with thin foam squares. My favorite part of the card are the portholes cut out of metallic cardstock!

What is your favorite product from the new release?

Perfect Combination Pizza Box with Lawn Fawn

Tuesday, August 9, 2022

I had a little fun outside of making cards for this last weekend's Craft Roulette. The parameters this week were (1) 3x3"; (2) yellow & red colors; (3) spicy; and (4) thread/twine. I immediately thought of pizza with the colors and could make a little 3x3" pizza box to put it in!

I have a picture down below sharing how I scored my Kraft paper to make my pizza box. The overall size is 7.5x4" with all of my scoring at 1/2" (1/2" - 3" - 1/2" for the 4" side and 1/2" - 3" - 1/2" - 3" - 1/2" for the 7.5" side). I cut each score line on the long sides and added adhesive to the the 1/2" flaps.

My pepperoni is spicy and I used some twin to keep my box closed. What do you think of my project? Do you think it met the parameters well? Did you participate this week?

Hooray! Basketball Shaker Card with Lawn Fawn

Monday, August 8, 2022

A family member was accepted into a University and to play on their basketball team! We went to a celebratory lunch for him and I created this card to give to him. I used his school's colors red and white for the sentiment, created my own basketball court background and of course, clay bit basketballs in my shaker.

It's a very simple card, but I hope he has fun with the infinity shaker - moving the basketballs around in the card always makes me smile! If you're interested to see how I assembled my infinity shaker card, check out my video down below.

Thinking of You Slimline Cards with Butterflies

Friday, August 5, 2022

Two for one today! I made these matching slimline cards using the beautiful Spring Floral Slimline Die and layering Butterflies 1 Dies from Scrapbook.com. I did a LOT of puzzle piecing for these backgrounds...  But it was worth it in the end! I just love how the backgrounds turned out.

One background I left white from the cardstock and the other I distressed using purple and pink Distress Oxides. I used my Distress Sprayer and metallic watercolor to add some splatter and shine to the distressed paper. I added some tape from my large 6" adhesive roll to the back of the cardstock pieces and then die cut them both with the Spring Floral Slimline Die.

I peeled off the negative die cut space (the frame part of the die cut) and added them to slimline card bases. Then I pieced in the butterflies and floral pieces - switch them out to put the pink/purple piece into the white frame and the white pieces into the pink/purple frame.

Once I finally finished that (and took a break), I die cut my butterflies out of a sheet from my Roses Smooth Cardstock pack and the shadow die from silver from the Mixed Metals paper pack. I added a little Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide to the center of the butterflies and glued the center to the silver shadow.

The sentiment is embossed in silver on to black cardstock and I cut around the sentiment with a paper trimmer and scissors. There is a layer of silver paper just like my butterflies! I popped the butterflies and the sentiment onto the card base using adhesive foam strips and added some Silver Glitter Pops of Color throughout the cards!

I hope you like these cards - they make me so happy and I just love the colors with the silver shine! Let me know what colors you would make your butterflies in the comments.

Beach Buds Coloring Guide for a Sea Otter, Crab and Sea Turtle

Thursday, August 4, 2022

It's crazy that it's August and time for a new coloring guide! This month I am featuring the Beach Buds stamp set from Time for Tea Designs. I chose three of the critters from the set to color - the sea otter, crab and sea turtle.

You can click on the guides below and save them to your device so you can reference them any time! I also have them posted on Instagram and you can use the "save" feature to access it when you're coloring, too.

This month I talk about lowering my crafty commitments (😩) so if you want to be sad with me, click on the video link below to watch my Color & Chat video. I share each step of my coloring for all three critters while chatting about what's currently on my mind. Plus at the end, you can get a close up on my sample card I made using these adorable critters using other Time for Tea Designs products.

I hope these new coloring guides are useful if you also use Spectrum Noir markers and let me know in the comments here or over on YouTube any future coloring guide ideas you would like to see!

Hero Girls from The Sassy Club

Wednesday, August 3, 2022

I absolutely love my pop culture stamps. Especially throw back to my 90s childhood! This Hero Girls stamp set from The Sassy Club is SO CUTE. Especially with Mojo Jojo! I used my star stencil (also from TSC) and used yellow distress oxides to add the stars to shades of pink paper. Then I grabbed my stitched heart stencils from Heffy Doodle and die cut out the stacks of hearts. I used my mint tape to keep my hearts in the same place for both pieces of cardstock so the stencil design would line up as best as possible.

I glued together the hearts onto some white cardstock, alternating the colors to create the same heart design like they have on the cartoon show. Then, die cut out the stacked hearts with a stitched rectangle die (also from HD) just to keep the consistent stitched look for the whole card.

Mojo Jojo has a die cut sentiment and my Hero Girls sentiment is stamped with black ink. Plus, gotta add some bling! So Mojo Jojo got some shiny, purple sequins and Pops of Color for the Hero Girls (the color is not out yet, but I'll tag it once it is). You can check out my Reels below to see how my Mojo Jojo card came together! Since I was able to make two backgrounds, I made the Hero Girls card a little later. 😉
