Wednesday, August 31, 2022

It's finally time to get your pre-order for the new Heffy Doodle Release! I just love the new Halloween products and since it's the last day of the month... You know I gotta make another Halloween project to share with you today. (I know, I know... I promise to share some non-Halloween ideas with the new release...)

I've combined my two favorite new stamp sets from the release with new essential goodies! I just love the colors in the Fright Night Paper Pad and Enamel Dots. They coordinate so well with the Hocus Pocus Sparkle Mix, too! Heffy Doodle also released a new shadow die for Halloween and I'm using the new Cathedral Window Dies to create my shaker window. The spider web fits perfectly at the top in my background, don't you think?

So watch my video down below and then head over to the Heffy Doodle Shop to get your pre-order in to get your goodies!

NEW Colorista Markers from Spectrum Noir + Inspiration with Scrapbook.com Products!

I have been really working on improving my coloring over the last couple of years and have been using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. I love my markers! So when Scrapbook.com asked if I would like to try out some of the new markers that will be releasing called Colorista, I jumped at the opportunity!

SBC graciously gave me so many different types of makers to try - from paint to metallic, alcohol to watercolor. I have VERY long video today sharing my unboxing and first reactions to the markers. I'm swatching all of them out and giving my opinion on them (solely my opinion, not based on SBC or Spectrum Noir) as well as showing my coloring to create two card samples with a couple of thew markers!

These markers are excluding to SBC for a limited time, so head over to Scrapbook.com and check out all of the new Colorista products! I will definitely have more inspiration to share with you using these new products in the next month - I am going to figure out a fun way to incorporate all of the markers like the Metallic and Glitter Markers!

Heffy Doodle + Picket Fence Studios Instagram Hop

You know when you find the perfect color combination, you just want to remember it and use it on your cards forever? Well, Picket Fence Studios really knocked it out of the park with their Nutcracker Ballet Ombre set of Paper Glaze! The three colors are just stunning and I did my best to chose colors to complement them in Distress Oxide to make a magical sky background.

I started with the lightest and moved into the deepest using the Heffy Doodle Cloudy Skies Stencil. Following the same color scheme and ombre feel, I added each of the Nutcracker Ballet Paper Glazes with a scraper and the Heffy Doodle Starfall Stencil. Of course I had to color some Heffy Doodle Fluffy Puffy Unicorns with the same colors - they all have golden unicorn horns for even more shine.

The sentiment is embossed with Holographic Embossing Powder to make sure there is shine EVERYWHERE! This card was made for an Instagram Hop for Heffy Doodle + Picket Fence Studios, so make sure to head over to Instagram (you can click on the photo below) to see my post and hop along! There's a giveaway so you really don't want to miss out.

Friday, August 26, 2022

When I first saw the Covesea Spark Mix from Heffy Doodle, I knew I wanted to make an underwater shaker card. I just love the shark from Oceans of Love, so I picked him out with the stingray, bubbles and some seaweed. The Summer Holiday Collection matched perfectly with the Sparkle Mix as well!

Watch my video below for how I created my sentiment, infinity shaker and how I colored the stamped images. This is probably one of my favorite Heffy Doodle Design Team projects - I loved mixing older and newer products together. Plus, you get to see me use the adorable Mini Trimmer and Mini Die Cutting Machine! The perfect little additions to your crafting desk.

Autumn Rose Blossoms "Hi" Card with Scrapbook.com

Wednesday, August 24, 2022

I'm so ready for Summer to be over. It's so hot! So I'm going to pretend it's Autumn by creating warm and cozy cards. I used some stamp sets that will be available soon (use the links down below to sign up to be notified when they are available) that I thought worked so well together. I started with creating an emboss resist background using Rose Blossoms and white embossing powder, then ink blended three Distress Oxides together to get the cozy colors.

Curiouser and Curiouser Card with a Bookmark with Kindred Stamps

Monday, August 22, 2022

Do you like making monochrome cards? I was a little unsure how my Craft Roulette card would come out because the parameters this week were a little strange. The project must be a kids card; have monochrome of a colors (plus neutrals); include a coffee/tea element; and have a grid. I was really unsure how to create a kids card with coffee/tea... But I was digging through my stamps and found this adorable Curiouser Stamp Set from Kindred Stamps!

I picked green as my monochrome color scheme and used a plaid stencil that reminded me of a grid to distress my background. Since it's a kid's card, I wanted to include something unique with the card, so I also made a simple bookmark to slide into the front of the card! I embossed the sentiments - the book mark is black ink with clear powder and the sentiment in white with a clear embossing ink.

What do you think? Does it meet the requirements for Craft Roulette this week? Did you participate and make a project, too?

Mini Underwater Scene on a Fintastic Card with Time for Tea Designs

Sunday, August 21, 2022

I have my final Time for Tea Designs DT project to share with you today. It's been a lovely 6 months on the team, but I'm a busy bee and needed to step down from a couple teams to have better work/side hustle/life balance. Of course I will always be a big fan of these adorable hand drawn images and will continue to use their products!

For my card this month, I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers to create a soft, watercolored scene. So get your watercolors and create with me in my video down below!

I like how my waves turned out using border dies and the layering of the gingham papers I think is my favorite part. They complement each other so well and overall just love the softness of this card. I hope you enjoyed my inspiration the pats 6 months while I was on the DT!

Wildflowers Thankful for You with Scrapbook.com

Saturday, August 20, 2022

I really cannot get over how beautiful Scrapbook.com's new floral stamp sets are! They are just so fun to color and I'm loving watercoloring them with Distress Oxides. I used the Boho paper to inspire the colors I used. I wanted to have a fall feel to the cards - especially with the sentiment I used from the new Hi Fall stamp set.

The background has the Dashed Stencil to add some texture - I used Victorian Velvet and Aged Mahogany Distress Oxides to create an ombre effect. I think they look so pretty on the light yellow paper from Boho. I used Mint Tape to mask part of the stencil - it fit the sentiment perfectly don't you think?

I wanted to give a the flowers more dimension, I stamped and colored a second large flower, cut around the stamped border of the flower and popped it up with some foam adhesive. Finally, some Pops of Color to add some centers to the flowers and color around the card! I hope you get some Autumn inspiration as we start preparing for the upcoming holidays.
