Square Halloween "Boo" Card with Scrapbook.com

Hi friends, I am sharing a fun Halloween inspired square card using Scrapbook.com Exclusives today. I created a colorful inky background by blending Distress Oxides in carved pumpkin, picked raspberry, wilted violet, and twisted citron across white mixed media cardstock. I kept blending back and forth until I liked the mix, then added water splatter for that oxidized texture. Once it dried, I layered on black shimmer and white luster splatter for extra dimension and die cut the panel using a stitched square. I also die cut a spiderweb A2 plate from vellum, die cut it with the same square, and adhered it to the background, keeping glue mostly around the edges and behind where my focal image would go.

For the focal point, I stamped the mini boo ghost using Nocturne Versafine Clair ink and colored her with Scrapbook.com luster and glitter brush markers. I kept the ghost mostly white with a bit of shimmer and added color to the hat and small details. After fussy cutting, I popped her up with thin foam adhesive onto the center of the panel. I added small matte black star rub ons around the background for a subtle embellishment that feels like splatter, then finished with tiny black pops of color for shine. For the sentiment, I ended up paper piecing a stamped banner using patterned paper from the Spooky collection so it felt softer and tied everything together. This card took a few twists and turns, but I love how the final mix of color, texture, and dimension came together.
