I had so much fun creating this cake shaped gift card holder using new products from Emily Moore Designs, and I love how playful and interactive it turned out. I started by ink blending a piece of white card stock with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, and Ground Espresso distress oxides to create a rich chocolate frosting look. I added splatter with Ground Espresso distress ink, water splatter, Tea Dye distress oxide spray, and finished it off with Vintage Photo distress spritz for a shimmery shine. Once dry, I die cut all of the frosting pieces from this background using the Make a Cake Gift Card Holder die set, and I die cut the cake layers from Madero Beach speckled tone card stock so it would look like vanilla cake under chocolate frosting.

I assembled the cake layers with liquid adhesive, carefully avoiding the gift card slots, and then layered on all of the frosting pieces and decorative dollops. I die cut a backing piece from the same Madero Beach card stock and glued it to the back for a clean finish. For the sentiment, I used the Short and Sweet Happy Birthday dies, cutting Happy from white card stock and Birthday from the chocolate frosting background. I turned the Birthday word into a sticker using adhesive sheets to make placement easier, layered the words onto the back, and added Snowflake Glitter Pops of Color to the frosting swirls for extra sparkle. The end result is a fun, dimensional gift card holder that feels like a little celebration all on its own.
