High Fidelity Inspired Record Card

Friday, March 6, 2026

Thanks for joining me in my craft room today for a quick Fandom Friday project. I actually started this card earlier during our March 2026 Crafty Besties livestream and decided to finish it up afterward. I wanted to lean into one of my husband’s favorite movies and create a High Fidelity inspired card that I can give him later this year for a birthday or anniversary. I used the Drop the Needle die and stencil set from the Hero Arts Handmade Holiday workshop kit and built a large vinyl record as the focal point. During the livestream I completed most of the die cutting, stenciling, and ink blending, and in today’s video I walk through the final assembly and finishing touches.

To finish the card, I created a custom sentiment on Canva that matched the orange tone from the movie poster and printed it at home. I die cut the sentiment circle using a Trinity Stamps Emergency Card Essentials circle die to help it fit perfectly inside the record center. I layered the pieces of the record together and added a tiny gray circle for the spindle detail. The record sits on an A2 kraft cardstock panel that compliments the black record with a stenciled shimmer and subtle iridescent shine around the edges using a pigment ink cube. I glued the sentiment label slightly at an angle so it feels like the record is spinning, then added the label die cut and trimmed the excess where it overlapped the edge of the card. Once everything was assembled, I adhered the panel to an A2 card base and the design was finished. It’s a simple card, but the music theme and subtle shine make it feel really special.
