For my card, I focused on one of the standout characters from the Herstory set – the one with the lovely brown hair that instantly reminded me of a certain adventurous spirit from my childhood book collection. I used OLO markers to color her, starting with her hair, then moving on to her face and arms, giving her a beautiful, life-like glow. Her dress, while not the traditional design, was colored to mimic the iconic maroon hat and gray bow, using reddish-gray and maroon tones to capture that classic feel. I even gave her rosy cheeks with a touch of pink for that extra touch of cuteness. After carefully fussy cutting her out, I added some white highlights to make her truly pop.

Now for the card itself! I aimed to recreate the iconic feel of those book covers we adored. I started with a True White Speckletone cardstock base, layering a lime green circle (stenciled with a cloud design for subtle texture) to represent a lush bush. I then added a black die-cut fence (from the Strawberry House die set) and intricate red flowers (from the Door Portal die) to the bush, reminiscent of her classic outdoor scenes. A strip of Craft Speckletone cardstock forms the ground, giving everything a sturdy base. The sentiment, "Together we make herstory" and "You're a doll", is stamped in black and red ink, echoing the book's title design. Finally, I adhered the bush and fence scene to the card front and then popped up our lovely character with foam adhesive for delightful dimension. This card truly captures the essence of those classic stories! Don't forget to head over to my YouTube channel to see the entire card-making process, including how I colored all the images and information on the two other cards featuring the rest of the girls from this amazing stamp set!
