Today I’m sharing a set of Halloween cards I created with the Emergency Card Kit 79 from Sassy’s LLC. I love how flexible this kit is—it comes with images, sentiments, and even a sketch to help you get started. For my set, I printed out sentiment strips and images, colored them in with alcohol markers, and paired them with coordinating arch die cuts. I decided to make both small and large arches, which gave me eight cards total, each with its own fun variation.

Since I don’t have a color printer, I worked with black-and-white images and added my own coloring. I used a mix of spooky patterned papers from my stash to build backgrounds, then layered on the arches, sentiments, and fussy-cut characters. To finish them off, I added ink blending for extra depth, pops of color as embellishments, and even a few bats for a playful Halloween touch. My process video walks you through two of the designs step-by-step, and you’ll also get a look at the entire set at the end.

I had so much fun playing with the mix of purples, greens, oranges, and grays in this kit, and I love how the cards came together. The sentiments are cheeky and perfect for Halloween, but many of them could also work for birthday cards or happy mail in October. I think these will be perfect for swaps, or even just to surprise a friend with some spooky-but-sweet snail mail. Be sure to check out the video below for all the details, and let me know in the comments which card is your favorite!
