Layered Jack-o’-Lantern Halloween Card with Cardstock Warehouse

For today’s card, I had a lot of fun mixing embossing, die cutting, and inky textures to create a layered Halloween look. I started with an A2 card base and covered it with a panel of Pitch Black cardstock. For my main panel, I trimmed a piece of Kraft cardstock and embossed it with the Reptile 3D Texture Fade embossing folder, then distressed the edges with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Inks. My sentiment was die cut using the Alphanumeric Cutout Lower dies from Sizzix. I cut the letters from Pitch Black and Rust cardstock, layered the black letters over the orange ones, and shifted them slightly for a drop shadow effect.

For the focal point, I die cut a jack-o’-lantern from Arancio, Giallo, Kraft, Rust, and Vertigris cardstocks from Cardstock Warehouse. I inked the die cuts with Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to add depth, then layered the pumpkin together. To give it extra dimension, I cut the second layer die three times from Rust cardstock and stacked them. After splattering the pumpkin with Rust Distress Ink, I adhered the jack-o’-lantern and sentiment onto the embossed Kraft panel, splattered white paint, then mounted everything onto the black card base. I love the contrast of the bold black background with the warm autumn tones—it feels perfectly spooky and festive!
