Festive Poinsettias with Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink

For today’s card, I’m playing with some of the Stellar Inks and pastes from Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink, and I am obsessed with how festive this background turned out! I started with an A2 panel of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and the Festive Poinsettias stencil set. For the first layer, I blended on Love Bomb Stellar Ink, then layered Later Gator and Ivy League for the leaves. The third stencil layer was inked with Weeping Willow Stellar Ink, and before adding the fourth, I splattered on a little Golden Hour Solar Spray for shimmer and texture. Once that dried, I used Shooting Star Stellar Ink with Golden Hour Solar Paste through the final stencil layer to create those glowing, metallic accents.

While my panel dried, I stamped two sentiments from the Ho Ho Ho stamp set—“Glad Tidings to You” and “Ho Ho Ho”—in Emboss It Ink on red cardstock. I heat embossed them with White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. To add some dimension, I stacked each sentiment with two additional red die cuts behind. Once the background was dry, I used my Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer to trim the panel to 4" x 5¼" and cut it at an angle to remove a small spot of smeared paste (a happy little design adjustment!). I glued it onto a top-folding white A2 card base and finished by adhering the sentiments to the lower right corner. The angled design paired with the shimmer of Solar Paste makes this card festive, modern, and full of Christmas cheer!
