BetterPress Christmas Collection from Spellbinders

Have you seen the new BetterPress Christmas Collection from Spellbinders? The BetterPress System is going to make Christmas card making so easy and I two different ideas for you today. My first card is a flat card wth a colorful background and just a few Pops of Color while the second card is stepped up a little with more detailed watercoloring and the image popped up with patterned paper.

For my first card, I wanted to create a Christmas card with my favorite color scheme so I started with a Pebble BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel and added Distress Oxide in Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans by both inking up the sheet with my domed foam blender and using an acetate sheet to "stamp" into ink with water to give a watercolor look. I also splattered on some white gold watercolor and once it was dry, I sent it through my BetterPress with the Most Wonderful Time plate and black ink. I trimmed the edges just slightly with my Tonic Deckle Trimmer and adhered it to my card base that had a silver glitter piece of cardstock to give shine around the edges. For some final touches I added some Silver Glitter Pops of Color.

For the scond card, the detailed image was just asking to be watercolored! I started with using the BetterPress System to add the image and sentiment onto a Bisque BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel and brown ink. I die cut the sentiment out of the lower right corner knowing that I would cover up the hole in the panel. Using my Distress Watercolor Pencils and a water brush pen, I colored in my image and added a pale blue to the background. I trimmed down the panel and popped it up to a card base with patterned paper and added an arch cut out to the lower right hand corner and also popped up my sentiment.

For some final touches, I used a brown pen to make a border around the BetterPress panel and a few Ruby Glitter Pops of Color to the berries and corners of the panel. I hope you're inspired by these adorable new BetterPress plates and make sure to check out the full Collection!
