Dino Origins & Genes - New Release from Kindred Stamps!

Saturday, June 28, 2025

Hi, friends! I’m so excited because it’s (sort of) Fandom Friday, and not only am I sharing a brand new card, but I’m also celebrating the release of some amazing new products from Kindred Stamps. If you’re like me and you love that iconic dino-filled adventure movie from the '90s, you’re going to have so much fun with this release. For today’s video, I focused on creating an interactive pull-tab scene inspired by one of the most unforgettable jungle moments. I used the Dino Origins stamp sets along with the Kindred Jungle Scene Die to build my card. The scene is set at night, so I created a moody ink-blended background using Distress Oxides in Chipped Sapphire, Villainous Potion, and Black Soot, along with splattered white paint and water to mimic rain and stars.

The jungle layer was die-cut from dark green cardstock and layered on top of my blended background, leaving space for the interactive pull-tab mechanism using Kindred’s Pull & Slide Die. I carefully die-cut my slots, created the pull tab system, and made sure everything moved smoothly. For the interactive element, I attached a sneaky dinosaur to the pull tab so it can slide behind my character holding—you guessed it—a can of shaving cream. The result is a super fun surprise that makes the dino slide in from the side of the card! I stamped and heat-embossed a playful sentiment on the same green cardstock to tie it all together and popped it up with foam adhesive for extra dimension. I absolutely love how this interactive scene turned out—it’s such a fun nod to a classic movie moment.

In addition to my pull-tab card, I made three more cards using the new Kindred Stamps release. For my second card, I created custom patterned paper by repeatedly stamping a fierce T-Rex on kraft cardstock. I added brown shimmer and white paint splatter, assembled the safari car in those recognizable colors, and popped it up on the card front with my favorite character and his open shirt. My third card features a playful cartoon on a bright, stenciled background with dragon scale texture and pops of color for extra fun.

For my final card, I made a box card scene that brings the prehistoric park to life! I die-cut the iconic entrance gate and added palm trees, grass borders, and a roaring T-Rex bursting through the gate. I added in a fun “Rawr” sentiment at the top and finished off the box card with stamped images and another sentiment on the back panel. This might be my favorite card of the whole set—the interactive feel of the box card really captures the adventurous spirit of the theme. I had such a blast creating all these dino-inspired cards, and I hope you feel just as inspired to dive into this new release. Let me know in the comments which card is your favorite, and don’t forget to check out the full Kindred Stamps release!
