Wicked Poison Apple with The Sassy Club

Saturday, September 20, 2025

It’s the 20th of the month, which means it’s time for the Oh So Inspired Collaboration Hop—and this month’s inspiration is actually me! Each of us on the team is being featured throughout the year, so I dug into my own projects for a spark of creativity. I was reminded that it’s been a long time since I played with alcohol inks, so I pulled out my stash and got to work creating a shiny, spooky background for a poison apple using products from The Sassy Club. You’ll find the full hop in my video description so you can see how everyone else was inspired too—it’s such a wild and fun feeling to know my work helped shape this round of projects.

For the card itself, I built a glowing green alcohol ink and foil piece on yupo paper, then die cut it with the poison apple die. I layered it over a rich red apple with ink-blended shadows, and finished it off with a textured stenciled background using glow grit paste. To make the design pop, I spelled out “wicked” in gooey letters and added glittery accents for extra shine. Everything came together with lots of dimension, texture, and shimmer. You can catch the video below for a peek at the process and close-ups of the finished card.
