Magic Inside using Casita Familia from Kindred Stamps

When I read the parameters for Craft Roulette this week, I knew I would have some fun with my Kindred Stamps. The wheel gave us a 4x6 card; colors of white, blue + 2 others; floral cluster; and squiggles! I cut my card base to 8x6 and scored in half to achieve what Mary calls a "Mini Chubby" which is pretty much between a typical sized card and a slimline.

For "floral cluster," I picked the Floral Tiles Paper Pack from Kindred Stamps in this pretty blue and white pattern. I trimmed it to 3.75x5.75 and centered it to the card base. I also grabbed my Magical Candle Die which as "squiggles" to create the design on the die and used all neutrals and metallics to cut it out and add some Distress Ink around the edges. The flame is from some gold embossing on vellum cardstock, but you can use any cardstock to achieve the look.

I stamped my sentiment from Casita Familia as well as the adorable girl in glasses. She is colored in with neutrals, white, blue, pink and purple; her glasses have some Glossy Accents to make them appear like they are glass. I wanted to create another layer between the busy background and my colored image, so I die cut a circle and added some hearts using Distress Inks and the Build a Rainbow Stencil.

The circle is adhered directly to the patterned paper, the candle is popped up with thin foam squares and my sentiment and stamped image is popped a little higher with foam adhesive from Scrapbook.com. I knew I needed a little more, so I grabbed three purple enamel dots and placed them around the images. This card turned out so sweet, even with limited colors! How do you think I did? Do you agree with my interpretation of the parameters?
