A Little Bit of Magic in a 4x4 Card With Kindred Stamps

Tuesday, December 16, 2025

I started this card by creating a 4x4” card base and die cutting a square from the Card Basics die set out of Madero Beach card stock. Using the footprint stencil, I blended Aged Mahogany Distress Ink through the stencil to create the footprint pattern and then added a bit of extra ink around the edges of the square for depth. Once I was happy with the look, I glued this panel to the center of my card base. I die cut a stitched circle from vellum and a smaller circle from patterned paper in the Magical Escape paper pack, glued those two layers together, and popped them up in the center of the card using 1mm foam adhesive.

Next, I die cut the small fishtail banner from the Card Basics die set, stamped the sentiment onto it, and glued it to overlap with the circles. I stamped the hat from the Sort stamp set, colored it with OLO markers, and fussy cut it out. I also die cut a quill and potion bottle from the Quill, Slugs, and Potion die set. The quill was cut from Madero Beach cardstock and inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide to add texture, while the potion bottle was cut from Powder Green cardstock and shaded with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, with Vintage Photo added to the cork. I glued the quill and potion bottle onto the circle layers and popped up the hat with foam adhesive, then finished the card with a few star embellishments from one of the Advent shaker mixes for a final touch of magic.
