Magical Mascot Shaker Ornaments with Kindred Stamps

Saturday, December 20, 2025

For today's project I created interactive shaker ornaments using products from the Magical Kindred Stamps Advent Calendar. I began by stamping the Day 20 Mascots stamp set with alcohol marker friendly black ink and colored each mascot with my OLO markers. Once the coloring was finished, I carefully fussy cut each image and set them aside while I worked on the shaker bases.

Next I used circle dies with coordinating frames from Kindred Stamps to cut circles and frames from red, yellow, green, and blue cardstock. I also cut matching circles from acetate to create shaker windows. For each ornament, I layered a cardstock circle, acetate, and frame using foam adhesive, then filled the shaker with coordinating colored mixes from Day 19 of the Advent Calendar. Before sealing each shaker, I added a piece of gold twine at the top so they could hang as ornaments. Once sealed, I popped the coordinating mascot onto the front of each shaker window using foam adhesive.

To finish the back of each ornament, I used the inner circle piece from the frame die and stamped sentiments that read “you are” followed by a trait that matched each mascot, such as brave, cunning, loyal, or wise. Below that, I stamped “you belong in” and added the coordinating house style name using another stamp set from the Advent Calendar. I popped these sentiment circles onto the backs of the ornaments with foam adhesive, which gave them a clean and finished look on both sides. These ornaments were such a fun way to turn the Advent products into keepsake decorations while still feeling playful and magical.
