When I saw this tiki set from The Sassy Club, I literally screamed with excitement as I am a big fan of tiki bars and this tiki themed show at a certain amusement park... As well as pineapple whips and a good mai tai. When Friday's episode of Craft Roulette had an element of bird, I was very excited to start coloring up the images with my Ohuhu Art Markers. I stamped the birds and flowers with black ink, but stamped the bamboo stands in brown to give them more of a wooden look. Another parameter was to include woodgrain and the bamboo stands have grain details in the stamp!

We had to make a matchbox card as the project for this week, and I am not a huge fan of matchbox cards. But I remembered that I have a matchbook style die set from Pretty Pink Posh that makes little mini note cards! I thought this was perfect because I could make little cards to meet the requirement, but tiny and cute. I die cut them out of Kraft cardstock and cut the white squares to fit inside and stamp my tiki bar sentiment in green.

For the cover of my matchbook note cards, I stenciled tropical leaves in Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron as well as some green metallic watercolor. Using the same square die, I added these squares to the front of the notecards. The color parameter this week was a flower field and I just imagined a rainbow of colors of flowers in a field so I was able to get really colorful with my tropical birds. I adhered the birds and their stands with foam adhesive and glued the flowers to the bamboo stands.
How do you think I did for Craft Roulette this week? Have you seen these amazing birds from The Sassy Club? Will you have their song stuck in your head all day like I currently have in mine?
