Man Eating Plant Fandom Friday Card with Scrappy Boy Stamps

Friday, August 21, 2026

For this week's Fandom Friday I finally got to play with the Ghastly Greenery bundle from Scrappy Boy Stamps, and if you know me at all you already know I cannot resist anything inspired by a certain man eating plant musical! I die cut everything from the A2 Man Eating Plant die set using a mix of cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse and Lawn Fawn, starting with a light pistachio green for all the leaves and the plant head, then shaded everything with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink using Trinity Stamps sidekick brushes for the smaller pieces and a larger blending brush for the plant head before adding green ink splatter from my glass board and pearl pigment watercolor splatter for extra texture and shine.

For the mouth I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to build up the inner mouth and lip area using a photo from the movie musical as my coloring reference, tinted the Madero Beach cardstock lips with Saltwater Taffy, colored the lilac tongue heavier toward the inside, and gave the pumpkin cardstock pot a terracotta feel with Fired Brick Distress Ink around the edges before assembling all the pieces together using the outline die as a placement guide.

For the background I stamped the Ghastly Greenery 6x6" background stamp onto kraft cardstock in Pinecone VersaFine Clair ink using a fun backwards MISTI trick, securing the cardstock to the MISTI door with repositionable tape so I could stamp it cleanly and re-stamp if needed, then trimmed the panel down to 4x5-1/4" for a subtle tonal look behind the plant. I adhered the background panel to a top folding A2 card base, popped the assembled plant up with 1mm foam adhesive, and used liquid glue to tack down all the delicate vines and roots so nothing would snag or sag. On the inside I stamped "Feed Me" in Tulip Red and "Sending You a Little Shop of Love" in Pinecone VersaFine Clair ink, using my grid mat to get everything centered, and I think that sentiment is just absolutely perfect for this card!

Witch You Were Here Light Up Card with Pear Blossom Press and Scrappy Boy Stamps

Sunday, December 10, 2023

If there's a company that makes fandom stamps... You can count that I'll start buying them! I saw these adorable stamps when I was at the Scrapbook Expo back in October and just had to get them! I used to watch this show when I was kid and it was on TV Land at my grandparents' house and it brings me some fond memories. This card is my latest Design Team project for Pear Blossom Press and I'm excited to share it with you today.

In my video below, I'm sharing how I made my ink blended night sky, embossed my city skyline and light up moon and stars, stamped and colored my image, and added Twinkle Lights to make my night sky light up. I just love how easy it is to use light up products from Pear Blossom Press and I hope you have some fandom fun with me today. Let me know if you used to watch shows on TV Land in the comments, too!
