Way to Go Game Board Birthday Card with The Sassy Club

Saturday, July 12, 2025

For this week’s Sassy Saturday, I created a playful birthday card inspired by the classic board game we all know and you either love or hate it! I started by die-cutting the Game Board from Park Green cardstock and used The Sassy Club’s Board Game Stencils to fill in all the colorful sections. I blended Distress Oxide Inks in shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, and brown to bring the board to life. Once the board was complete, I adhered both die-cut pieces onto a 5x7 card base.

Next, I stamped and colored a variety of game-inspired images from The Sassy Club’s Way to Go stamp set using alcohol markers and my favorite Onyx Black ink. I cut out all the pieces and arranged them around the board to look like an active game in progress, including fun player tokens and house-shaped accents. For the title, I heat embossed the "Way to Go" sentiment in white on Cherry cardstock to mimic the classic bold logo style. I finished the card by popping up the main character and sentiment with foam adhesive and added a playful inside sentiment: “It’s your birthday collect $10 from every player”—a perfect sassy twist!

Whomp, There It Is Fandom Friday Card with Miss Ink Stamps

Friday, July 11, 2025

Hi friends! I’m excited to share a magical card I created using some of my favorite products from the Miss Ink Stamps Magic Collection. Inspired by midnight adventures, enchanted forests, and maybe even a flying car or two, this card is full of whimsical charm. I started by creating a glowing moon with the Night Sky Stencil Set and blended a rich ombré sky using Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. To make the stars shine, I added splatter with water and white gold metallic watercolor, keeping the moon mask in place to let it stand out big and bright—perfect for mysterious journeys under the cover of night.

For my scene, I colored the tree and that mischievous blue car from the Seriously Stamp Set using alcohol markers, giving the tree a shadowy look like it’s been watching over secret forest paths for years. I heat embossed the playful sentiment “Whomp, there it is” in white on black cardstock and popped up the car and sentiment with foam adhesive for dimension. I love how this scene came together—it feels like a little snapshot from a magical story we all know and love. Be sure to watch the full tutorial on YouTube to see every step and let me know if you’ve ever crafted a scene inspired by enchanted castles or moonlit adventures!

Birthday Balloon Cards with Scrapbook.com

Thursday, July 10, 2025

I have 2 birthday cards to share with you today featuring Scrapbook.com Exclusive products! For my first card, I went with a fun, mini square design using the Nested Wavy Circle Dies to create a shaped card base. I layered light teal and blue cardstocks from the Fresh Duo A2 Paper Pad and used smaller dies from the Nested Wavy Squares to build the background. To add a festive touch, I created my own patterned paper using the decorative stamps from the HBD Balloons Clear Stamp Set with Scrapbook.com’s Caribbean, Lagoon Blue, and Sky Blue inks. I die cut three party fans in coordinating cardstock colors and stamped the balloon-filled “HBD” sentiment in charcoal ink, filling the letters with the same color scheme. I finished the card by popping up the “woohoo” sentiment and adding layered fans and balloons for playful dimension.

For my second card, I switched to a traditional A2 size and die cut the largest Nested Stitched Scallop Frame from a dark yellow cardstock. I layered this with balloon-patterned paper from the Hooray A2 Paper Pad for an instant celebratory vibe. The focal point is a stamped balloon arrangement from the HBD Balloons Clear Stamp Set, where I paper-pieced colorful balloons in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple using cardstock from the Fresh Duo A2 Paper Pad. Some balloons were adhered flat, while others were popped up with foam adhesive for depth. I die cut the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment in white, blue, and purple and added sparkly Pops of Color to match each balloon—finishing with a glittery touch on the “wishes” word.

Both cards came together with a mix of simple layering, bright color combos, and playful dimension—perfect for celebrating birthdays in style! I love how Scrapbook.com’s exclusive products made it easy to coordinate colors and patterns for these festive designs.

Celebration Tulip Shaker Card with Pretty Pink Posh

Tuesday, July 8, 2025

Today's project truly captures the essence of spring with its cheerful floral design and a playful shaker element that's bound to bring joy. If you're eager to see exactly how this card came to life, I encourage you to check out the YouTube video below where you can follow along step-by-step. I began by die-cutting various elements using the Tulip Shaker Dies and the Grass Border Die. From green cardstock, I cut out the grass border as well as the stems and leaves for the tulips. For the tulip tops and their frames, I chose a lovely rose pink cardstock, and for the shaker portion of the tulip, I die-cut the flower bud shape from acetate, using a helpful trick of placing printer paper underneath to ensure a clean cut. Assembling the tulips involved adhering the pink tops to the green stems and leaves. The shaker tulip required attaching the acetate to the frame using adhesive.

The real magic happens with the shaker element! I used thin foam strips to build a little container within the tulip frame and then filled it with the vibrant Sugar Pop Shaker Beads. To seal the shaker, I attached one of the solid tulips to the back of the frame, creating a delightful interactive element. For the background, I opted for a soft, blended look using the Watercolor Oval Mask Stencil and Distress Inks in shades of Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Tumbled Glass, aiming for a sunny, sky-like feel. A touch of black splatter added a bit of whimsy. After adhering this background to an A2 card base, I arranged the die-cut tulips and grass border across the front. Finally, I added the Large Celebrate Shadow Die sentiment, die-cutting the word and its shadow from white and pink cardstock respectively, and attaching it with foam strips for added dimension. This card, with its celebratory sentiment and fun shaker, is perfect for so many occasions!

Sweetest Popsicle Shaker Card with Pretty Pink Posh

Monday, July 7, 2025

It’s always fun to revisit older projects, especially when they bring back great memories! Today I’m sharing a card I originally created back in 2023 using some adorable products from Pretty Pink Posh. This one is a little bit of a throwback, and while some of the products I used are now retired, I’m excited to highlight them as I wrap up my term on the Pretty Pink Posh Design Team. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to the team, but I’m focusing on balancing work, life, Girl Scouts, and, of course, my love of crafting. I hope this card inspires you to dig into your stash and play with your older favorites, too!

To make this card, I started with an A2 white cardstock panel and stamped images from the Sweet Treats stamp set in fun, vibrant Sassy Club inks: Fuchsia, Lavender, and Summer Green. I distressed the edges with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide to add a pop of color. I die cut blue cardstock using the Fancy Cake Dies to create a shaker frame and filled it with Party Swirls Clay Confetti before adhering it to an A2 card base. For the focal point, I stamped two popsicles in Fuchsia ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and die cut them using the Sweet Treats coordinating dies. I added the popsicles to the center of the shaker and finished the card with a fussy-cut sentiment, "You're the sweetest," backed with blue cardstock for a shadow effect. It’s such a happy, summery card and I’m so glad I could share it with you!

Spongetastic Birthday Card with The Sassy Club

Saturday, July 5, 2025

This week for Sassy Saturday, I created a fun and colorful handmade card inspired by a group of familiar underwater friends and a pineapple-shaped home, using adorable products from The Sassy Club. I started by trimming a playful yellow patterned paper with silly faces to 4" x 5-1/4" for the background. I used the reverse side of the same paper, which has a bold red and purple floral pattern, to cut quarter-inch strips and glued them across the card for added texture and color. The card is landscape-style, measuring 4-1/4" tall by 5-1/2" wide. I layered a purple cardstock panel with a blue floral patterned piece to create a fun focal point and added more floral strips for extra detail.

For the scene, I stamped and colored my quirky sea creature friends and the famous pineapple home using The Sassy Club’s black ink and my Ohuhu alcohol markers. I glued the house directly onto the blue panel and popped up the characters with foam adhesive to add dimension. I finished the front with a "One Year Later" sentiment, which I stamped, fussy cut, and popped up over one of the floral strips. On the inside, I stamped "Happy Spongetastic Birthday!" to tie it all together. This card is such a fun, sassy nod to classic undersea adventures!

I Lab You Monster Backpack Shaped Card with Popsiclesticks

Friday, July 4, 2025

Hi friends! It’s Fandom Friday, and I’m excited to share a card inspired by one of my favorite quirky little monsters from a collectible figure line. This week, I’m featuring the adorable Monster 6x8 stamp set and some fun dies from Popsiclesticks. I was thrilled to see this set restocked, and I couldn’t wait to create a backpack-shaped card to match the whimsical, scruffy vibe of my monster friend. I used patterned papers in soft greens and pinks from the Meadow paper pad to build the backpack with the Mini Backpack die set, adding lots of stitched details, a dangling zipper pull, and a gold embossed heart to complete the look.

The star of the card is my custom-colored little monster, inspired by a seated collectible I have in my craft room. I stamped the head and body separately to customize the expression and used alcohol markers to color him in soft teals and peach tones. The monster swings from the top handle of the backpack, adding a playful interactive element! I finished the card with a curved sentiment banner and stamped a sweet note inside. You can see all the details in my Fandom Friday video on YouTube; check it out to watch this quirky backpack card come to life and to see more Popsiclesticks goodies in action!
