PSL Coffee Cup Shaker Card from Heffy Doodle

Thursday, September 22, 2022

Did you get the new Coffee Cup Shaker Dies from Heffy Doodle's latest release? There are so many different combinations you can do with the die set and my video today shares the different dies and how you can use them to make coffee and tea cups.

Of course my example in my video is a Halloween themed and a Pumpkin Spice Latte shaker! I used a few stamp sets from the new release as well as the Bean Scene Stencil. I love how diverse this die set is and how many different ideas you can use them to create different kinds of projects! What is your favorite way to use this set?

New Release from Simon Hurley Create and Ranger Ink!

Wednesday, September 21, 2022

Simon Hurley Create has a new release with Ranger Ink today and the new items are so so cute! When I was asked to create with some of the new products, well first I was flabbergasted and just felt so honored and lucky, but I saw the raccoon on a pumpkin and the adorable monsters and just knew I needed them. I was also given a peel apart background stamp and came up with some easy cards that you can use as inspiration for the new release!

My first card is using three Simon Hurley Create ink pads with the Plaid Background Stamp and I colored the cutie monster from Mythical Monsters with my Colorista Markers in the same color scheme. The second card I used Distress Oxide inks and water to create a watercolor feel background and used the Happy Fall set for my sentiment and image. I also colored the raccoon on the pumpkin with Spectrum Noir markers.

Check out my video below to see how these cards came together and I just want to say thank you again to Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink for asking me to play with these new goodies and share some inspiration with you!

Dino Peekaboo Pop-Up Birthday Card with Lawn Fawn

Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Did anyone else get the new interactive dies from Lawn Fawn's latest release - Peekaboo Pop-Up dies? I finally opened them up and played with them for Craft Roulette this week. I kept things pretty simple as I just wanted to get an idea of how to use the dies, but I thought it went well for this week's parameters.

The project is a fancy fold (which there is a fancy fold and there is a pop up - so fancy), dusty hue colors (I made sure to not go bright and more... dusty), an element that starts with a "d" (dinosaurs) and include pennants (see the pterodactyl).

I didn't create any process videos for this card as I was playing around and wanted to get a feel for the dies before recording. But I followed the instructions and used the pop-up die that puts the image in the center of the card. I stamped and colored my dinosaur images and used some scraps to create my scene (the leaves are from my pirate pop up card).

The theme of the card was birthday and I was going through my stamps and found my Dad Jokes stamp set which I thought would make a cute sentiment on the card! How do you think I did with the parameters? Did you participate this week with Craft Roulette?

Hello Fall Sunflowers Card with Scrapbook.com

Saturday, September 17, 2022

I made a single layer card. I cannot believe it, but I literally do not have any foam adhesive on this card! Okay, there is some dimension because I love adding Pops of Color... But it's pretty much flat and I think it turned out really pretty!

The background was masked using Mint Tape and I used the Sunflowers Stencil to add in color to the background. The "fall!" was die cut from the Boho A2 Smooth Cardstock (the background is from the same pack) and I stamped "HELLO" from the Hi Fall stamp set.

Finally, I have to add some Pops of Color to add texture and a little dimension to the flowers. You can see how the card comes together on Instagram or TikTok - a quick little video to share the simple steps. I hope you step out of your comfort zone in crafting this weekend!

SBC Fest: Shaker Cards!

Friday, September 16, 2022

I cannot believe SBC Fest is HERE! I was so nervous about my class but I am so happy so many people enjoyed it and learned something new. If you missed today's classes, I have the video down below so make sure you check it out! I don't want to give too much away, but I shared how to make three different types of shakers. I showed how to create a shaker using stackable shaped dies (left below) and how to make an infinity shaker (right below).

During SBC Fest, you can also can get a really great shaker die set with your purchase for FREE! So of course I just had to use it for my last shaker - using dies specifically made for shaker cards (below). I feel so honored to have been part of the very first SBC Fest and I hope you'll join us for SBC Fest Day 2 tomorrow!

Sweet Paletas Happy Mail with Lawn Fawn

Wednesday, September 14, 2022

This last week's Craft Roulette had wonderful parameters (thank you, wheel!) and I did mostly die cutting for my card. I have the lemon dies from Lawn Fawn and had not opened them yet... So I used them to create fun citrus fruits along with my popsicle dies (or paletas)!

The parameters this week were: inside/outside project; any colors; critters; and four squares. I started with using a small square shaped die to cut four windows into my card base, which of course was super fun to try and get them straight and spaced equally from each other. Because the colors were so open, I knew I wanted to use a rainbow of colors for the latest Lawnfawnatics Challenge, too! I grabbed my favorite colors to distress on mix media cardstock, solid colors for my fruit and blended two colors for each paleta.

I die cut all of my colored cardstock and the rind of the fruit was out of un-colored mix media paper as it has some texture and the paleta sticks out of kraft paper. I used black ink to stamp my cutie mice and colored them in with my Illustrator markers, so I die cut the "sweet" sentiment out of black cardstock as well.

Since there was a parameter of  inside/outside, I added some fruit die cuts and a sentiment to the inside, making sure you could see some of it through the square die cut windows! I really love how this card turned out - soft rainbow is one of my favorites and this card makes me want a grapefruit paleta (hint, hint to my Florida family that makes excellent paletas for my next visit haha).

How do you think I did with the parameters? Did you play this week?

Sip, Sip, Hooray Bes-Tea Boba Shaker Card with Heffy Doodle

Monday, September 12, 2022

Heffy Doodle's shaker dies are so cool! I love how you can personalize them and and create all kinds of variations of snacks. The Coffee Cup Shaker Dies are what I used to create this boba tea shaker card! I distressed the background with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide and the Bean Scene Stencil. I die cut it using my largest Stitched Rectangle to fit an A2 size card base. There is vellum oval on the background just to give a little softness to the background and something between it and the boba tea.

I distressed two coffee cup dies with Tea Dye Distress Oxide and trimmed them to fit the white lid die cut, die cutting one of them to be the shaker window. I layered the lid to the shaker window die cut, then added the acetate and foam strips. My little boba are die cut from a dark brown cardstock and used as the shaker bits; so cute right?? I then used the second coffee cup as the backing to my shaker. Don't forget to add your big straw! I die cut one in green and used that as inspiration for stamping my sentiment and adding Pops of Color.

I decided to make an additional part of my sentiment out of the Stitched Alphabetters Dies - the pun BES-TEA in pink to bring that background color to the front of the card, too. I hope you are having lots of fun with the shaker dies! Let me know what kind of drink you think I should make with these dies next.
