Wild Journey Fandom Box Card with Kindred Stamps

Friday, July 26, 2024

I'm so happy with how this fun, box card turned out! I'm using stamps and dies from Kindred Release and as you probably can guess, I just love these fandom characters. I stamped and colored my images as well as put together my safari vehicle just for fun, so I don't have a video today. But I'll still walk you through my process so you can replicate something similar if you'd like!

First I started with stamping all of my images with a brown, alcohol marker friendly ink pad in my MISTI. I left my stamps in place while I colored the images with olo markers, then put the images back into my MISTI to stamp them with a darker brown ink. I used my Scan N Cut to cut out the images and got to die cutting the safari vehicle.

I followed the image from one of Justin's cards to put together my car; I did use some Distress Ink to darken and dirty up the vehicle. You can't have a safari vehicle without some dirt! I then did all my die cutting with the retired MFT Outside the Box Level Up Dies. I wanted to give them a grassy area to stand, so I used the add-on dies and made my sky blue with some Distress Ink as well.

Finally, I assembled the box card together and add in my tree to the very back of the box card, the safari vehicle with my mouse couple to the further back grassy shelf, my silly critter and female duck to the middle grassy shelf, and finally the male duck to the front grassy shelf of the box card. I did add some patterned paper to the sides and front of the box card and added an embossed sentiment.

I hope this card brings a smile to your face! I have to figure out what size envelope this card is going to fit into, or I just might have to make a custom envelope due to its unique size. I just wanted to make sure everything would fit on the card!

Hooray! Magic Mouse Celebration Card with The Sassy Club

Sunday, June 9, 2024

Hooray! I have a fandom card using a couple of my favorite companies to share with you today. It is also inspired by June's Show Us Your SheetLoad sketch from Call Me Crafty Al. I started with stamping and coloring in my images. I used the Sassy Club Onyx Black ink as it is alcohol marker friendly and used OLO markers to color them in. My sentiment is embossed in white on red cardstock - I liked the contrast of color with making red the background rather than white.

I followed the sketch from Call Me Crafty Al, but lowered my sentiment so I didn't block any of my cute characters. I popped up the panel of paper strips and my stamped images with foam adhesive - you can see my short video below for how I assembled the card, and you'll have to watch the SheetLoad video if you are interested in the sketch. Finally, I added a few Pops of Color in black to just add a little more to my yellow background.

Let me know what you think of this card - I just love how cute and celebratory it is!

Dearer to Me Mini Slimline Shaker Card for Twiddler's Nook

Friday, May 31, 2024

Happy last day of the month! It's hard to believe May is coming to an end, but at least we get to talk about Halloween. I totally missed some Halloween inspiration last month... It was just a wild month and I had just way too much on my plate. These videos are mostly just for me and sharing my love of Halloween, so unfortunately it can get pushed off the plate if need be (like my Christmas videos the month before that).

But today is the next Twiddler's Nook Spooktacular Hop so there was no way I was going to miss Halloween this month! I'm using my Twiddler's Nooks products for today's card - I have my blending tools and trays, but the shaker embellishments are from Amanda's shop and they are so fun and perfect for this monster mash Halloween card!

You can follow along how I made my card in today's video, but I'm using fun products from a few of my favorite people! I used Social Paper Plan for the patterned paper, PopsicleSticks for my dies and The Sassy Club for the stamps. This iconic couple is perfect for a Halloween card (well, really any time card) and the sentiment is just so beautiful and perfect!

I hope you'll check out my process video down below and make sure to hop with us over on Instagram! If you want to check out Twiddler's Nook, you can find a link to her Etsy shop in my supplies down below. I am not an affiliate for any of the major companies I feature today, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to share with you my favorite companies!

Favorite Deputy Love Card with Kindred Stamps

Monday, April 15, 2024

I wanted to color up this cute duo, so I decided to grab a Show Us Your SheetLoad sketch - I'm a bit behind in playing along so this is from February 2024. I used patterned paper from my collection and followed the sketch to create my layout. For my take on the sketch, I stamped my sentiment onto the white half circle and added a die cut word across the patterned paper that goes across the card for a tone on tone look. I did add some pink ink with a Paper Pouncer to add a little ombre look, but it is a bit hard to see in the photos.

The other change to the sketch is that I added images above the sentiments that I stamped from the Kindred Stamps sets Toy Box and Playtime (they are currently sold out, but join the Facebook Group in case they're ever re-released). I colored them in with my OLO markers and fussy cut the images out. I used a white gel pen to add some highlights and popped up my images onto the card. I just love how cute this card turned out!

Batch of Fandom Birthday Cards with Social Paper Plan

Saturday, December 30, 2023

I have been working on projects for upcoming releases during my time off from new things this past week, but I did make thirty-three birthday cards for my grandparents! It's something I like to do each year as a Christmas gift as they are blessed to have what they need so it's a gift that I know they'll use. Because I made so many, I like to keep things simple and not use foam adhesive so they will will go through the mail with one stamp.

The layout is adapted from the December 2023 Show Us Your Sheet LoadSketch from Call Me Crafty Al! I love using the layouts for a starting point and make them my own. I followed the sketch pretty closely, but added some details like stamping in between the patterned paper panels and added lots of images as the "half circle" and my sentiments are on a banner. In order to save some time to make these cards, I used lots of ephemera from Social Paper Plan (who also makes most of the stamps I used and patterned paper) and dies to build up my mini clusters on the card.

All of the birthday cards are completely different as I alternated the paper panels and used lots of different ephemera across the cards. But these are my favorite from the three different styles - one inspired by a Fantasyland, Adventureland and the movie Up! I know my grandparents would love anything I make, but I sure hope they like these when they open them (I'm writing this post ahead of time before I see them during my vacation). Let me know which one is your favorite in the comments!

Handmade Autograph Book with Social Paper Plan

Friday, August 4, 2023

When I was introduced to Social Paper Plan, I became obsessed. Like, need all the stamps and dies... I have collected quite a few, but I have been really loving her mini books and how she uses her paper pads and ephemera. I felt so inspired, that I even got the Mini Cinch when it went on sale at Scrapbook.com! Well, I finally made my first mini book - it's an autograph book for when we go to Oogie Boogie Bash in October for Abigail! I thought it would be also great to add in photos and other ephemera as we collect them when we go.

To make the book, I covered chipboard in different patterned papers from the I Smell Children Paper Pad and I cut everything down to A2 (4-1/4 x 5-1/2"). I glued the paper to both sides of the chipboard covers and cut out a scalloped black frame to put on the cover. For the inside pages, I cut up a bunch of white copy paper to the same A2 size and then punched them with my Mini Cinch. I used an orange binding wire and put the book together.

For the touches on the cover, I die cut "Oogie Boogie Bash" in black and green cardstock, glued them together and added them to the cover. I picked a few favorite ephemera pieces from the Boo! Halloween pack and added them to the cover as well. I glued everything to the book with liquid adhesive except for the pumpkin which I added with a lot of foam adhesive in hopes of it staying on when we're at the event.

Using a white gel pen, I added highlights to the die cut words and Pops of Colors in orange for some final little embellishments. I hope Abigail loves it and I'm excited for her to take it to the event in October!

Theme Parks Album: Milkshake at Downtown Disney

Wednesday, April 12, 2023

I have just a small entry into my Theme Parks album this month... I just wasn't feeling it (scrapbooking) and instead of forcing myself to make something my heart wasn't fully in, I decided to just do a mini entry from when we went to Downtown Disney for Abigail's birthday with one of her grandmothers. We had dinner, and Abigail drank a HUGE milkshake almost all by herself and did some shopping.

While this is technically a day at a theme park, it's close enough and I wanted to include these funny photos of Abigail. She had a big sugar rush after dinner so we walked around and did some shopping. I used stamps and dies from Social Paper Plan, a tag die and scrapbook cards from Scrapbook.com, paper from Simple Stories, and other goodies I found in my craft stash. I linked down below whatever I used that can be purchased, but there's a couple items that I've just had forever!

Theme Parks Scrapbook: Lunar New Year at Disney's California Adventure

Saturday, March 18, 2023

I took a lot of photos during our day at Disney's California Adventure! We picked this day to go because, well Abigail didn't have school, but also it was during the Lunar New Year event! I had planned to use some stickers that a friend gave me when he worked at Shanghai Disney Resort years ago, but I cannot find them right now for the life of me... I seriously searched everywhere, and I know they have to be in a box, high up in the closet or something. So, I will add more to these pages once I find them!

But what I did find when I was digging through stickers and ephemera, were these old photo corners with Mickey Mouse shaped balloons and cute faces with Mickey ear hats on! I have NO IDEA where they came from, so unfortunately I cannot post them in my supply list. I am sure they're from a scrapbook kit I bought a long time ago so I did use them to decorate these pages and will save them for future Disney days.

Of course I used some stamps from Social Paper Plan as she has the cutest stamps of Disney images and they help add cute touches to my scrapbook pages. I am still using my 6x8 album in the Emerald Green Velvet, but I think I might need to get a second one soon! We'll see how many more photos I can shove into this album. I still have two more Disney days to scrapbook and we still have our passes for Universal Studios...

Theme Parks Album - Universal Studios

Sunday, February 12, 2023

The next theme park trip has been added to my Theme Parks Album was our half day trip to Universal Studios in January to celebrate Abigail's birthday! She decided on a "yes day" instead of a birthday party and part of her choices for the day was to ride a few attractions at Universal Studios. I actually did not take very many photos and a few of my photos are actually stills from some video I took that day.

So I have mostly photos and not much paper crafting, but I'm just proud of myself for actually printing photos and getting them in a scrapbook! I also stamped and embossed some of my Social Paper Plan stamps of adorable magic icons. Our next theme park trip was Disney's California Adventure for Lunar New Year, so I'll definitely have more photos to document for that trip!
